Hộ chiếu đặc biệt

Hộ chiếu đặc biệt

A special passport sits between the diplomatic and ordinary passport. Countries issue it to defined categories: members of parliament, senior judges, former officials, or members of ruling families. Colors vary widely — green, blue or maroon depending on the country.

Who receives it?

Categories are defined by each country's law: parliamentarians, constitutional court members, retired ambassadors, and in some states businesspeople on official economic missions.

Privileges

Faster border treatment and, under some bilateral agreements, visa exemptions broader than the ordinary passport — for example the Turkish "green passport" (hususi) enjoys visa-free access to many countries that require visas from ordinary Turkish passports.

Important

It does not confer diplomatic immunity, and its visa privileges depend entirely on bilateral agreements.
